The Predatorial Editorial -- Hello Jesper

By Anthony Erickson

This is Bob Cobb coming to you from downtown Nashville with another report on the Preds.

Well, although the team sits atop the Western Conference with a 14-8 record, it certainly doesn't feel as though the team has gelled at this point. While some fans argue that the juggling of lines and defensive pairings hasn't helped the team find an early rhythm, the coaches feel differently..

"...I suppose you could look at our overall record and say there's little reason to panic at all, but the bar is set high here from start to finish..   and sure, there could be a bit of a 'back-to-back' hangover going around..  there was a ton of buzz after Victor (Hedman) and Pierre-Luc (Dubois) joined the team, and I don't know..  sometimes it just takes time. And sometimes it takes changing things up for these guys..  and that's just what we're doing. You'll see next game against the Wings..  believe me you, Bobby-boy!" -- Trainer, Jim Chimney

The word we've heard is that the big move is that the new top line will consist of Stamkos-Dubinsky-Fiala with a top pairing of Cowan/Hedman behind them. The hope is that the team can spark the overall offense from the top down. One early bright spot that we must mention has been the solid early play of rookie goalie Jesper Wallstedt. He's had a few hard-luck losses thanks to a lack of offensive support, but his peripheral numbers are solid and thus far he's shown up to the task of handling Pro level shots~

Up next, the Preds will take on the Wings and it's quite likely that we'll see a battle of each teams former goalies in McCollum vs Talbot. Should be a tasty treat of a game if nothing else.

Brief quote from D Jared Cowan speaking about Wings Fwd (& former Predator) Nolan Patrick...

"...it's time to eat your potatoes, kid"
