This is Bob Cobb coming to you from Rumors Sports Bar in downtown Nashville with a report on our beloved Preds..

Well, it just wouldn't be the FNHL if all sorts of wacky stuff didn't take place during the regular season. While our Nashville crew has still been able to put together a solid record of 28-16-8-1 over 53 games, it's hard to say that it's been smooth sailing.  While their new puck-control system has been effective, it hasn't brought the expected uptick in scoring (yet). The Preds do average nearly 10 more shots on goal per game than their opponents so the optimist in me says it'll only be a matter of time.  The pessimistic portion of me however says, "go make a deadline deal, Erickson!!" 

While we have seen several moves made in the past to beef up before the postseason, the word on the streets here lately has been that the team will stand pat.  I don't really believe any of that noise though because, well..  I just don't.  The team sits in 2nd place in the West behind the Kraken right now, so some moves should be expected. Buuuut whether or not the cream rises to the top by seasons end, I suppose there really isn't anyone afraid of a head-to-head series with Seattle.  They've definitely been a feel-good story to this point & also a consistent reminder that we're ultimately all at the mercy of the sim's random whims~
