Another year, same story, 14 games to go and only 6 points
separating 6 teams on the playoff bubble, with the last 3 spots up for
grab. Our team squeaked into the last playoff spot on the last day of the
season, tied for points but having 1 more win than the other team.
Our team has the luxury once again of having more wins than
the other teams that we are fighting for, but the team needs to up its' level
of play.
The team is a few games off dealing newly acquired superstar
Quinn Huges, who just never fit in, for talented vet Seth Jones, up and coming
22 year-old stud dman Kevin Korchinski, and LA 1st next year. Also, the
team was able to move over-paid winger Chris Kreider in the deal and Jones
and Korchinski immediately signed 3 and 4 year extensions with the Canes.
The team's play has defintily picked up since the trade with
Jones fitting in on the first pairing with Dobson and Korchinski has filled in
the spot on the 2nd pairing with Hamilton.
The team is more than happy with the youth movement and how
the young players are performing. Lead
by Ozzy, Shane, Tyler, and Turcotte are on pace for career years.
In net Korpisalo has had a strong year and in on pace to surpass
last years number and to each his endorsement deal. While young backup Swayman has been very
solid in his backup role.
