The Los Angeles Kings clinched a playoff birth with their recent successful play, now the real season begins. The Kings under GM Berger have never made it past the first round, "We have faith in the club we have assembled. We have a good blend of young and veteran players which we believe we may have been lacking in previous years. We are hoping this group takes us to new heights."
New heights for this team would be getting past game 5 of the first round. The Kings are likely to enter the playoffs in a different seed than previous years. The Kings have been entering the playoffs as the 7 or 8 seed most years, but a strong push late in tge season has propelled the Kings higher up the standings. LA will hope to take advantage of a likely home ice matchup in round 1.
The veterans who have lead the charge have been Jack Eichel and PK Subban. Eichel is tied for his career high in points while Subban has 40 points from the backend for only his 3rd time in his illustrious career. Both players are ready to roll. Bring on the playoffs!
