The Los Angeles Kings sit in the middle of the pack in a tightly contested Western Conference. The Kings made a pre-deadline move in acquiring Dman Morgan Reilly from the Panthers for Jonny Tychonick and a 3rd round pick. The Kings saw this move as obtaining an upgrade on their 3rd line d pairing without mortgaging too much of the future. So what other moves do the Kings have in store?
The Kings will have some interesting decisions coming up with many expiring contracts on the books. A few contracts to watch are Riley Tufte and Taylor Raddysh. Both star forwards have been big parts of the Kings turnaround, but the Kings have youngsters nipping at their heels. Will the Kings decide to trade these players or sign them to longer term deals. If they do decide to move on from them the question will be does that happen during the season or after it. The Kings also have PK Subban and Seth Jones on expiring deals. The decisions here could truly set the market.
A lot will probably depend on the trade market. The Kings will likely only be looking for upgrades, but balancing it against the future. The next few games will also likely go a long way to determining how aggressive the team will be.
Go Kings Go!
