Recent Surge Makes LA Buyers

Kings looking to make noise

By Bobby Berger

The Los Angeles Kings have won 7 of their last 10 and now sit in the 5th seed in the west. The Kings are in the playoffs by 8 points l, 65 games into the season. The Kings GM Bobby Berger recently sat down with team reporter Karyn Mandrews to discuss the teams recent play.

KM: To what do you attribute the recent good play?

GM: We have been getting balanced scoring of late while playing a strong team game defensively. Our D is jumping in at the right time, Subs (Subban) and Jonesy are near career highs in points. I can't speak highly enough of the leadership of Eich (Eichel) and Big Mac (McCann). Lastly, Roby (Jarventine) should be ROY with how he has stepped up.

KM: Can you discuss the deadline with our readers and the team's approach?

GM: We made a big jump into the trade market by acquiring Psysk from NY. He's a solid stay at home D man who can play up and down the lineup. He is another veteran presence to pair back on the blueline. It cost us a 1 this year, but if we can finally get out of round 1, it will be worth it. We may be done, we may not be, remains to be seen.

The Kings are next in action on Tuesday against Calgary. Go Kings Go!
