As usual, the Kings are in a tight playoff battle. Their play, 6-4 over the last 10 has kept them just in the race. Taylor Raddysh recently missed three games, during which time the Kings were 1-2. While it was good to see the progress of 18 year old 1st round pick Matvei Michkov, there was definitely something lacking with the offense. Raddysh returned and had 3 points in a 6-1 win over Pittsburgh.
That win boosted the spitirs in LA and led them to believe they are on the right path. As such, the Kings are likely to be buyers at the deadline. The two most obvious places to add are probably to pick up a rental high end D man and a potential upgrade in goal. The Kings goaltending has definitely not lived up to their ranking so far. Star goalie Viktor Fasth is not having his normal stellar year, which has lead to many close losses in games where the Kings have outshot their opponents.
Who would the Kings likely move to faciliate upgrades? Rumor has in exciting youngster Carson Lambos may be on the block. It would have to be the right move to part with such a valuable piece, but their seems to be more parody this year than ever before. The last portion of the year should be exciting!
