The Los Angeles Kings have been doing just enough to stay in the race in the tight western conference. To show just how close this race is, the Kings currently sit in the 10th position, but are only 2 points out of 4th place. The team has been involved in so many one goal games this season that a few breaks either way could have had them way up or way down the standings. It truly just goes to show the parity in the league right now
GM Berger when asked about the team during a meet the season ticketholder event said, "I like the team's current underlying metrics. We score more than we give up, we are in the top 10 in PK and PP, and we have really stayed out of the box this year. We are also putting nore rubber on net than we are allowing. We just need some more of those shots to go in."
The belief is that preliminary discussions are starting to take place with regard to minor upgrades, but the next few weeks will go a long way to determine how aggressive sellers or buyers the Kings will be come trade deadline time. We will check back in on the team in a few weeks to see what has transpired
