The Race is On!

Scoring title in the balance

By Bobby Berger

Many probably clicked on this article thinking it had something to do with the pro side of the FNHL, however, you are sorely mistaken. With the Los Angeles Kings out of playoff contention, we have turned our attention to the tight AHL scoring race. It looks to be a four horse race between Manchester Monarchs (LA) forwards Charles Hudon and Roby Jarventine, Scranton Penguins (PIT) Andres Thuresson, and Hamilton Bulldogs (MON) Roman Horak.

They currently rank as follows through 78 games:
Hudon : 40 goals, 72 assists, 112 points
Jarventine: 54 goals, 58 assists (5 fewer games played), 112 points
Thuresson: 31 goals, 75 assists, 106 points
Horak: 38 goals, 68 assists, 106 points

The Monarch’s players appear to be jockeying for the lead, but in a league where scoring 30 goals in a game is not unheard of, this is anyone’s trophy to grasp. Hudon has come on really strong of late so he may be the favorite. Stay tuned in for the final 4 games which promise to be barn burners!
