Duck’s Having A Hard Time Taking Flight

By Dillon McGillivray

It’s been a rocky start for the Mighty Duck’s. In the first 12 games they’ve had a record of 4-6-0-2. “I’m disappointed in the start we’ve had, It’s as simple as that” GM McGillivray stated. “We’ve had some key players not playing as well as expected but I have faith in my squad that they’ll be able to turn that around in the next few games” McGillivray continued.

The team has had a hard time “clicking” in the first 12 games. Just falling short in many close games, they haven’t had any blowout losses. They have shown that when they are on their game they can produce outcomes like their 3-0 shutout vs Calgary. Brandon Halverson has been instrumental in keeping all the games within reach of the rest of the squad. That being said, some players have been struggling to find their groove. Martin Necas and Filip Zadina are among the names of those who have yet to make much of an impact. Necas with only 5 points, split 1 goal and 4 assists and Zadina struggling even more with only 3 points, split 1 goal and 2 assists. There are some players that have been stepping up to help offset the struggling players. Such as veteran players Schroeder, Larsen and D’Agostini. Putting up 25 points between them all. Rookies Lucas Raymond, and Serron Noel have been putting up some impressive numbers.

The Duck’s are looking for redemption against the Golden Knights in what should be a hotly contested rematch.
