Flyers Snap Losing Streak

By Julian B

The Flyers have been on a bad stretch, hard to really make sense of it. The club is solid in every category yet has gone from winning streak to losing streak and appearing to be a bubble team at this point of the season. That being said, the Flyers won a big game Sunday in Detroit to keep them afloat and hopefully improve spirits through the lineup. Six players had multi-point games (Backstrom, RNH, Baertschi, Larkin, Thompson and Hertl. Somehow how only 1 minute of ice time, Tomas Hertl managed a goal and an assist. Richard Bachman had a strong contest stopping 24 of 26 as he hopes to find some consistency.

Dylan Larkin continues to lead the Flyers with 33 points (17 G / 16A) and is keeping pace with a possible 40 goal season. Cody Franson sits 2nd in Norris points having 28 points and a +12 rating through 35 games. Tage Thompson has excelled in the Flyers top six with 14 goals and 13 assists.

Up next, the Flyers take a day off before hosting Anaheim on Tuesday. Anaheim has held up well in the west with a 17-11-6-1 record thanks to some hot goaltending from Brandon Halverson who already has four shutouts.
