Buyers...

By Julian B

After a decent string of games the Flyers appear to be primed as buyers as the rental period and trade deadline approaches. There have been a few names tossed around as trade possibilities, but how much are the inconsistent Flyers willing to spend to attempt to further lock down a playoff berth? Philly sits just four points ahead of the 9th place Penguins so there is still a lot of uncertainty heading into the next couple of weeks. After a disastrous last season, Flyers fans are hopeful they will have a club to cheer on during the playoffs. The GM will do what he can and weigh his options before pulling the trigger on any potential upgrades. If the season ended today, the Flyers would match with Washington in round one. A strong club which did some upgrading of their own earlier in the season. That's the model to compare to if the Flyers hope to advance into the playoffs and beyond round one.

Philly is coming off of two straight victories and will play guest to the St Louis Blues tomorrow. They will be without the likes of Julius Honka who was injured early in today's contest with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
