Flyers Touchdown in Denver

By Julian B

After a beyond frustrating stretch of hockey for the Flyers, the club suddenly woke up Thursday and potted seven goals vs the Avs. Surely whatever the boys ate today will become the norm for their next contest. Filip Zadina scored once and added three helpers,  Dylan Larkin added three asists in the contest, Julius Honka put two in the back of the net while Kane, Poirier, Seider and Thomspon all had two point nights. Impressively, Philly outshot the Avs 35-19 giving Martin Jones one of his easier outings. Jones saved 18 of 19 in the match. The Flyers will enjoy a day off on Friday before heading to Carolina to face the Canes in an important standings matchup on Saturday. Lineup shuffling has been a norm this season, and despite the 7-1 outing we expect to see a couple players shift in the lineup.

With 48 games now completed, the Flyers sit 8th in the conference, tied at 50 points with the 9th place Canes. With rental period not too far away, the next 5-7 game stretch will define whether the Flyers decide to make a run or if they will be shopping the likes of Evander Kane, Emile Poirier and Mattias Backman to name a few as rentals.
