Stars Fall Down to Earth

Tough Break

By Ethan Smedley

The Stars were hot being on a 5 game win streak which featured major production from all of the key players for the future of the organization. However since that win streak the Stars are 5-5-5 and have seen the point totals drop from those key players. Uprising defender Timothy Liljegren has gotten just 1 point in the last 7 games, and the whole Stars team has not been the exact same. The current production might take a drop with some terrible news after the most recent game for the Stars. After a very physical game against the Vancouver Canucks the current leading point scorer for the Stars and the organization's superstar Jamie Benn went down in the middle of the 3rd period. After the game GM Ethan Smedley got the news that Benn will be missing for 1-2 weeks. A tough break for both the Stars and Benn. Here is what GM Smedley had to say, "Jamie going down while being on pace for his best season yet is a real bummer, the first line with him and Tukonen being paired with the young guns was showing great chemistry. Now Poirier and Tippett will be taking on harder roles then they are in now and we will see how they play during Benn's injury."

Dallas will take on the current 6 seeds in each conference Winnipeg and New Jersey before having 2 days off.
