Dallas Stars 2033 - Redemption

By Ethan Smedley

The 2033 FNHL Season is one that comes with heavy excitement and unsure expectations for the Dallas Stars. With two straight years of lackluster management and inconsistency Dallas looks to return to the playoffs where they were just two seasons ago. The biggest news in Dallas from the offseason comes from Free Agency where GM Smedley broke the bank and signed Colton Parakyo to the largest FNHL Free Agency Contract in league history.

"There wasn't much we could do, he was the guy we wanted since the news of Ottawa letting him walk came out. The market was heavily shifted from the Montreal - Werenski deal and we felt we had no choice but to give Colton that contract."

It comes at a big price but Parakyo is also the best defensemen that GM Smedley has ever had in the organization.

Another big move was trading for former 70 point scorer Josh Ho-Sang who sees himself on a one-year deal where the organization feels he is due for a bounce back season.

With the Stars defensemen core being solidified and signed long-term this season is going to be huge for the outlook of the forward group. Fans can certainly expect management to sign Jesperi Kotkaniemi to a long-term extension in season, but for guys like Ho-Sang, Fast and Benn the Stars want to see how the year and rerates pan out before making long-term decisions there.

The redemption season starts tonight where the Dallas Stars will be taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets in game one of the 2033 FNHL Season at 9pm EST Tonight.
