Now 53 games into the season the Flyers are sitting alright at 24-19-9-1. Certainly could be better but it provides them with enough of a gap to consider being an active club at the trade deadline. Philly will dangle a lot of their picks and top performing farm hands to put together a run at defending their cup win back in the spring. That being said, a bad run of three or four losses could send the Flyers out of the playoff picture and look to become sellers this time around. The roster is built strong and should stick around but we've seen a lot of inconsistency already this season.
The deadline date is yet to be set but word has it the date will be released very soon. This should give way to some early hand shake deals. There has been very little activity league wide for the last two months, the trade deadline should give GM's a nice boost as usual to review their cupboards and decide to off-load or add assets.
Next up, the Flyers head to Winnipeg to take on Skylar's Jets. Winnipeg is riding a two game win-steak while the Flyers are coming off of a tie vs the Wild.
