The usual regular season shenanigans are well underway for the Flyers. After an 8-1-1 start the club has been as inconsistent as ever despite a deep roster of scoring lines, strong overall defenders and what should be a strong one - two punch in goal. Now riding a three game win-streak the Flyers move into the last playoff spot at the 40 game mark. It's hard to get excited for game-day when the results are so random but the sim will do what it does best, give and take, rinse and repeat.
42 games remain in the season, 22 to 24 wins and a few ties and overtime losses will likely get the job done. The club has all the tools necessary but the future remains so uncertain for the defending champs. Justus for Annunen!
Next up, the Flyers play host a team who has also struggled recently then also went on a three game win streak, the Carolina Hurricanes. Expect a high scoring overtime decision or a 1-0 snooze fest. Someone's mini win streak will end. At least the fans can bet on some entertainment from Gritty, that lovable goof. Puck drop is at 2:00pm. Yes on a Thursday, and we will find a way to fill 85.5% of those seats.
