2-6-2 in last 10 for Florida

By Toby Rice

The halfway point of the season has come, and the optimism has hit a wall. The Florida Panthers, after starting off the season leading the division, have suffered lately and find themselves with a 2-6-2 record in their last ten games. While the Panthers haven't panicked, other teams around the league are making moves. Could we see changes to the Panthers' lineup anytime soon?

"We've gotten a few calls," says the Panthers' GM. "We we're happy with how our team had come out to start this season, but we'll be monitoring things closely."

So were any of these trade calls something that the Panthers' GM might've considered?

"No. Nothing worth thinking hard about." Rumors suggest that teams have called about popular young defensemen, but the team won't be entertaining those offers.

"If we make a move, it'll be for underperforming players. We will consider good hockey trades with other teams who are struggling. It works, so we'll be listening."

Whose names could we see on the trade block soon? No one knows. The team is tight-lipped, other than to say that phone lines are open if the right move becomes available. Stay tuned as things around the league begin to heat up!
