Devils Make Another Trade

Marner, Carter, Mete Acquired

By Nathan Erb

The last place New Jersey Devils made another major deal this morning as management is showing no one's safe. Young center Dylan Holloway and veteran Anders Lee, acquired last week, were sent to Edmonton. Holloway strugged to get ice time behind Dylan Cozens and Alex Turcotte, putting up just 8 points in 22 games. "He has a bright future, but he was an asset we had to move to get a player we've had our eye on.

Mitch Marner was the centerpiece of the deal coming from Edmonton. Marner, 27, is on pace for a career high 80 point season. The Devils hope he can spark a stagnant offense with a struggling Cozens, Nugent-Hopkins first line.

The team also picked up veteran Jeff Carter who should be a better fit on the 3rd line. Victor Mete was also added and gives the team additional depth in Lowell on the blueline.
