Patience is a virtue

By Bobby Berger

The LA Kings have not had the busiest of offseasons to date. They have however had a plethora of rfa's they got locked down on long term deals. The Kings believe signing these young players is the best long term move.

Forwards Trevor Zegras and Taylor Raddysh are both under 24 and signed long term deals. Raddysh was a former rookie of the year and Zegras was A rookie of the year runner up. Zegras signed a structured 5 year deal while Raddysh signed a 4 year deal.

On the backend, Cameron York signed a 5 year deal and Seth Jones signed a 4 year deal. The Kings believe York can slot in to the second line as he will be a 77ov after workouts this season. Jones will eat up first line minutes at a reasonable salary. He is tough to play against and a real leader on the blue line.

The offseason is still young and the Kings have kicked the tires on a few deals, but thus far they have only acquired a backup AHL goalie. There is limited cap space to play with, but anything could still be in the cards. Excitement abounds after last season's unexpected playoff birth.
