York is the "oldest" of the group at 25. He has been a young minute eater the last few years since first being acquired in a trade with Vancouver as a prospect. York agreed to a 3 year extension which will keep him with the team as part of a long term future D core. The Kings have 2 highly regarded aging Dmen in Jared Cowan and PK Subban, both of whom will have 1 year remaining next season. Tying York up allows the Kings a transition for some of the minutes those players will start giving up next season. York is currently on pace for his best offensive year.

David Reinbacher signed a 6 year extension which mirrors that signed by teammate Vince Dunn in the offseason. Reinbacher saw the commitment Dunn made and wanted to be a part of the organization long term. "How many places can you play where you get to play top tier hockey while surfing in the morning? Why would I want to be anywhere else?" Reinbacher has rocketed through the teams organization since being drafted #4 overall. The Kings hope Reinbacher can be a future #1 or #2 dman and have committed as such.

Lastly, the Kings signed Michkov to a 4 year extension. Michkov has been banged up a bit this year, but is expected to play a large role for the team in the years ahead. The Kings have multiple expiring contracts from their young players this season needed big extensions and as such, will have a younger look next season.

Expect more signings and moves in the days ahead as well as this offseason as the roster shuffle will be real!
