Stars Face Familiar Foe

By Ethan Smedley

The Dallas Stars beat the archrival Arizona Coyotes 3-1
yesterday, this marked the 1st meeting between the two clubs in this
season and brought GM Smedley’s record against the longtime friend GM Ken Knoph
to 6-3 in the 3 seasons they’ve faced each other. Micky D just completely shutdown
the Yotes yesterday saving 28 of 29 shots while the only goal he allowed was in
the 3rd period. For the Stars, Clayton Keller netted his 20th
goal on the year which is tied for the 5th most in the league, Owen
Tippett scored in the beginning of the 3rd period which is his 3rd
goal in his last 5 games, the final goal was from the Stars #1 Defenseman Jakub
Zboril.

Here is what GM Ethan Smedley has to say on Dallas’s
performance thus far, “Very happy with everyone’s performance so far in the season
and I am excited for what’s to come.”

Later in the interview he started to talk about the Top 4
defensemen group, he noted that all 4 are playing well but to push the Stars
the next level he would be ready to trade 1st round picks for a top
4 Dman.

Dallas looks to get revenge on Philly for the 5-2 loss they
received earlier in the season before facing one of the top defenses in the league,
in the Ottawa Senators at home.
