Huge Shift

By Ethan Smedley

After losing 4 straight against the Blues, Flyers and Devils (x2), Dallas saw both Clayton Keller and Nicolas Beaudin get an injury that would sideline them for the next 6 games. After the losing streak and the injuries management made some hard decisions to get the lines as best as they possibly could. Playing the next six games all on consecutive days made this an even tougher task but the Stars fought. Winning their next five straight while 4 consisted of one-goal games. Going into today they had the last game against the Kings before the team finally gets a day to rest. While there is still 24 games left this season, all western conference games have huge significance as this is the closest the playoff race has been since GM Smedley took over back in the 2025 season. Today's game ended the trip off with a huge 5-4 win on the road in Los Angeles. This included 4 goals in the 3rd period, two of them coming within seconds of each other. But also a game winner with 20 seconds left in the game by Derek Dorsett who was on the farm team just before Keller's injury. With the off-day tomorrow Keller and Beaudin will be able to suit up in the teams next game against the Golden Knights. GM Smedley will have his hands full while figuring out who to suit up but also with the trade deadline approaching and what additions/changes he plans to make.
