Ducks Exceeding Expectations

By Dillon McGillivray

GM McGillivray is extremely impressed with his squads level of of play. "There is still plenty of season left but our players are currently playing out of their skin. We seem to have the depth we were lacking last season" Said McGillivray.

The Ducks are sitting in second place in the western conference and first in the Pacific division with 30 points in 23 games. They have produced well offensively having 78 goals on the season. Also on the defensive end that have only allowed their opponents to find twine 58 times.

The Ducks have had a number of players that struggled last season really stepping up and taking control this season. Such as Brandon Halverson, only letting 36 goals by him on 472 shots to give him a stellar 0.924 save percentage. Brian Lee has been having a great season compared to when he joined the club last season, showing that hes a great fit for the team this season. Funk and Meszaros also showing they still have the gusto to play in the pros despite their age. The rookies the GM has brought up have been preforming very well, Martin Necas with 20 points on the season and Filip Zadina with 15 points.

With everything great happening on the pro side of the team there's bound to be problems in other areas. Such as the farm team, the pirate are trying to hold it together as they are having a terrible start to the season. With only 6 wins on the season they are just above the bottom of the table. GM McGillivray is hoping things will turn around for them or he might have to start shopping for some new goaltenders as it seems the current goaltenders aren't fitting the bill.

The Ducks hope to continue their good play in their next game against the Sharks which are always a tough opponent.
