Are the Stars a Success or No?

By Ethan Smedley

The Dallas Stars are sitting at 4-4-3 with 11 points, 8th seed in the stacked western conference. The Stars are looking like a new team with these 2 GM's, finishing last year in the bottom 3 of the conference to being a team that can potentially be a playoff team. New additions Rickard Rakell and Derek Dorsett are fitting into their roles rather quickly and producing points for the team. The Stars were on a roll before last nights blowout loss against the Islanders, GM Ethan Smedley had this to say, "Last night we did not seem ready especially Harding who throughout this year has been a lot better than what we expected but last night was not good for him." The Stars are looking for a bounce back game against a Cup contender from the West, the Calgary Flames. The Flames have a very solid team that is currently 5th in the West. A problem developing with the Stars was the young defensemen Timothy Liljegren, he had a very good pre-season for the Stars and they had high hopes for him to begin the season, but Liljegren did not do as well as the GM's thought. This caused him to be sent down to the farm until the GM's see more improvement. Liljegren and Seider are the future defensemen for this organization so they would like to see improvement sooner rather than later from these two.
