Washington DC
After multiple moves during free agency and via trade to boost their D Corp, the Washington Capitals are still experiencing a tough start to the 2025 campaign. After 5 games, they are 1-3-0-1 for a total of 4 points on a possibility of 10.
‘’We are still waiting for some new faces in the line up to start making an impact on the team and on the season. I know it can take some time for a team to gel but we need this to happen sooner than later. I know that patience is a virtue but our fans and organization has high expectations this season...’’said GM Moreno after the 4-0 loss against the NJ Devils
GM Moreno didn’t mention any name during is press conference but we can all read between the lines. Kosmachev is a -3 with no points, Sergachev -4 and Nurse only has 2 assists in 5 games. Add to that the poor play of goaltender Jack Campbell who signed a 5 year deal worth 35M$ during the off-season and you have a good understanding of where the team stands.
On a brighter spot, rookie Tolvanen is 2nd in point with 1 goal and 2 assists while P. Maroon finally takes is opportunity to be back in the pros with a 3 assist effort and +4 rating during those 5 first games
The Caps are back in action tonight at home against the NY Rangers
