This is Bob Cobb coming to you from Rumors Sports Bar in downtown St. Paul with another report on our beloved Minnesota Wild~
Well, with the 2032 season soon to wrap up, it's hard not to look back and consider the season a great success to this point. Without a GM actively manning the helm, the 2031 season saw the Wild finish a paltry 27-40-10-5 with 69 total points in the standings over 82 games. With new management in place for 2032, the team sports a spiffy 47-27-7-0 record and 101 points in the standings after 81 games played -- good for 2nd in the Western Conference and 4th best league-wide. We got a word with GM Erickson to get this thoughts on his 1st season in Minny..
"...yeah Bob, it's hard to complain about the teams play to this point.. but once you make the dance, it makes 0 difference how many games you won during the regular season. You've gotta focus on each series.. one game at a time.. and just get the job done. With league parity at an all-time high, nobody is really a front-runner anymore so our goal is to come out hot.. stay fkin' hot.. and give those bastards all we got." - GM Erickson
Right now, it looks as though the Wild will take on the Blackhawks in the 1st round of the postseason. Winds of change have blown recently in the windy city with a new GM just taking over the reins there as well so it'll be interesting to see how a talented Hawks group responds to the late in-season change. Word on the street is that GM Cienfuegos has a history of immediate success once he joins a regime so they could certainly be a dangerous 1st round opponent that cannot be overlooked.
All that said, we'll check back in once we know who the 1st round opponent will be there -- Until then, I'm Bob Cobb and I wish you wouldn't squish that dirty fish on my dish..
