This is Bob Cobb coming to you from Rumors Sports Bar in downtown St. Paul and I've got another report for y'all on our beloved Minnesota Wild!!

42 games in..  record of 24-15-3~

Well, it's been many moons since there's been a steady hand at the helm of the Minnesota FNHL franchise here and the results under GM Erickson to this point have been nothing short of..  well, surprising if I'm being honest.  And outside of the play of veteran netminder Calvin Pickard early this season, their record likely would look quiiiiite a bit different.  Not that the team wasn't expected to compete this season, but most would have told you that making the playoffs was the goal & then well..  they would just take it from there.  Don't get greedy or the FHL Sim will smell it..  and you will pay the price on the simulated ice..  

I'm told that the new GM's goal for the season wasn't to shake things up like they have recently, but with the team playing so well -- it was decided to make the leap & bring in some gunners.  From an outsider's perspective, it's hard to find a negative about bringing in guys like Melker (Karlsson), Miro (Heiskanen), and (Owen) Tippett.  3 players in the primes of their respective careers unite in the land of 10,000 lakes and more importantly, the State of Hockey!  If that's not enough to pump you up as a Wild fan, then keep in mind that this is a now a group with extra motivation to finish things off for the long-time Wild legend, Patrick Kane.  

Will the Wild continue to add talent to their core group in an effort to make Kane's whopping 22nd season in Minnesota a great success?!  Let's hope so!!

Rivalry update: series tied between the Isles & Wild at 1 game a piece.  Scores of 4-3 each time..  annnd the rubber match still weeks away.  Rest assured -- the boys will be ready for that Long Island stank~
