With the first season at the helm of the New York Islanders, GM Marnix Vanturennout has done some great things this season to set the club up for success. After a full season of evaluating what he has to work with the focus will switch to the entry draft and the continued development of the new wave of Islanders for next season. Vanturennout delivered on what he promised Islanders nation which is a new identity and a new breed of players that will bring this franchise back to the playoffs and contending for cups. Vanturennout addressed media Friday with a summary of the season saying, "Still a lot of work ahead but with all the money we brought in from endorsements and deadline selling, we have not only stocked our bank account for extensive development camps, but also are hoping to have a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft! Couple of our players we were watching this season have assured me they are worth keeping around for the long term, we plan on investing heavily in our defense so we don't spend a lot of time in the D zone, I am really excited for the work ahead!" Gonna be a fun year next year with all the changes and players moving up from the farm program to the big leagues.
