Islanders getting ready for next phase

By Marnix

As we head to the last stretch of games and into the playoffs, Islanders management is getting ready to take on a very big off-season.  While the players get the clubs ready for the links, management will be gearing up and hoping for some luck in the draft lottery after securing their 1st round pick form Nashville a few days ago.  With the recent trades the club were also able to get some much needed money to invest in their new defensive core that are coming up next season.  Overall the season looks to be pretty productive for the management group, the endoresment deals they signed up for look to be on pace to hit, the acquisition of their 1st round pick should give fans something to cheer for as the team looks to add a big piece to the new foundation it is building.  "Looking over our roster we actually have a lot to work with in the cupboard, the priority will be to really work with a handful of our prospects who we plan to be part of the new wave of Islanders.  We really want to build from the net out so our efforts to develop our defense takes priority over all else.  We want to be a hard team to play against next year as we keep building towards our window of competing again for a cup.  The future looks bright and I can't wait to get started and give Islander nation what they deserve, another Stanley Cup or two."
