Looking at the Bright Side

It can't all be bad

By Bobby Berger

Here in Los Angeles the season has not turned out the way the team had hoped, but that does not mean the organization is without some bright spots. It is currently 70 degrees (Canadians can convert that to Celsius) in December and the sun is shining, so let's take a look!

The combination of Jared McCann and Taylor Raddysh have been superb at the NHL level. The two former FNHL Rookies of the Year have teamed up for a phenomenal season. Raddysh has already set his career high in goals (29), assists (39) and points (68). His previous career best had been in his rookie campaign where he amassed 63 points. Jared McCann is on pace to set career highs as well. He currently sits at 30 goals and 39 assists. His career high for points is 74 which is very attainable.

Another positive is the scoring prowess of the AHL Manchester Monarchs. They are lead by Roby Jarventine who leads the entire AHL in scoring with 52 goals and 101 points. The amazing thing about Jareventine is that he has played in 5 fewer games than all the individuals around him in the scoring race.

Lastly, as the Kings fortunes have turned sour, it is good to remember they still have their #1 pick in the upcoming draft (as well as Buffalo's). As a result, the worse they do, the better the prospect they may pull.

See, it is always sunny in Los Angeles!
