Dylan Guenther Leads the League

By Toby Rice

A quarter of the way through the season, RW Dylan Guenther leads the FNHL is scoring. It's somewhat unbelievable, but a Florida Panther is the scoring leader. It's early, of course, but in our recent memory we can't remember a time when someone on the Panthers was ever the scoring leader in the FNHL. Guenther, on pace to shatter his career highs, has 9 goals, 18 assists, and 27 points in 21 games played. He previous career high was 64 points last season. The homegrown youngster was originally the 9th overall pick in the 2028 draft. After spending two seasons in Rochester, Guenther has worked extremely hard to develop into the player he is.

"Dylan is a prime example of what this organization has stood for over the last several years," said the Panthers' GM. "We've put a focus on drafting and developing, and that's what Dylan is a product of."

Drafting and developing is certainly the reason the Panthers are where they are today. While they have had a rough start to the season, things are slowly turning around.

"We're not worried. We're a couple of points out of the playoff picture. We believe in this core group."

While Guenther shines this season, the remaining cast of young core is there to play a supporting role. Stutzle, Svechnikov, Guhle, Nemec, Timmins, Lambos, Seeler, and more. All drafted by the Panthers. All creating a culture of developing into a winning franchise. Let's see where the season goes, and how this young core can turn it around!
