It has been a tough year for Islanders fans as it seems like they will need to wait another year before trying to break the streak and get into the playoffs. While it is hard to expect big things when a lot of new players are getting pushed into the pros this season has been nothing short of a disappointment. "I think next year we are not going to sign up our goalie to an endorsement deal, this year it has forced us to play him almost every game which is not the best formula for success, he needs a break but we need the cash to keep developing our players. A playoff birth would help generate that extra revenue we are looking for so we can compete with all the other teams it is just hard to gain traction when there are so many good teams in the league. One or two changes could be the difference between a winning or losing season. Hopefully this will be the last year of the so called rebuild and we can start trending more in the win column, we expect to get a decent prospect finally that can add to the needs of our foundation. With having no idea how the players will rerate it is hard to see what next year holds, our rookies have all had a hard time adjusting to the pro level and I am having a hard time seeing the positives from this season, trading our captain and leader hurts, we just have to hope that we can get better for next season but this is a hard thing to watch.
