Isles look to part ways with veteran Superstar

By Marnix

As the rental window approaches it seems the writing is on the wall for star forward Quinton Howden.  Through all the rumors and noise during the season, the big playmaking forward has performed admirably in a top line role and is on pace for another potential 50+ assist season positioning himself to be a top target in the rental window coming up.  It has been a rough season for a team looking to improve on last season with a number of young players taking bigger roles with the club to see what the foundation looks like moving forward.  This team could still use one or two more building blocks and hope to land a nice future package for the productive top 6 forward.  GM Vanturennout has mad it pretty clear to the rest of the league that it is only a matter of time before the C/LW finds a new home in hopes to put a playoff contender over the top for a deep run.  It is bittersweet for the club that drafted him 29th overall in 2014 and who watched him play his whole career minus one season in Detroit in the orange and blue.  Through his time with the club he has delivered top 6 numbers every season, with a playing career spanning over 1300 games played, over 700 assists, over 380 goals, and over 1100 points.  "Quinton will always have a place here in Long Island, we may even go after him again in free agency next season, he knows how much he means to the city, the fans, what he has given this club over the past 15 plus years is nothing short of excellence and professionalism."
