Columbus has heated up over the past 10 games, going 8-0-2 and taking a commanding lead atop the league. Columbus continues to be the best offensive team in the league, reaching the 100 goal mark and its thanks to the rookies who are among the Jackets best players to start the year.
Fabian Lysell (12,19) has 31 points in 32 games to start the year, playing on the top line alongside Tkachuk and Hischier and have formed tremendous chemistry through the first 1/3 of the season. Cutter Gauthier (8,15) and Braden Schneider (3,14) and Drew Commesso have been strong to start their careers and are major contributers to the Jackets best start in franchise history.
"They have brought a massive boost to us this year, allowed us to be strong throughout the lineup thanks to the flexibility of their contracts. Lias Andersson is reaping the rewards and has been at his best and on pace for a career high in points." - GM Moriarty commented when asked why he thinks the team has been so good to start the year.
As Columbus continues on their record breaking start, they are scheduled to play the Capitals on Friday where star goalie Kevin Poulin is in line to make the start.
