It
has been quite a while since the league’s best players were pitted against each
other, and this season the All-Star and Young-Star series’ return, with nearly
two weeks of festivities running concurrently with the regular schedule.
(Of course, all games are occurring in a parallel universe with no effect on
FNHL rosters).
GMs will be asked about offered participation via email. In prior years, first
spots would always go to best participating GMs that were out of the playoffs.
For this comeback however, the league will simply go with the best. The best,
being defined as a blending of last season’s standings and this year’s current
standings. Four GMs will be selected, two from each conference to construct an
All-Star roster, and Young-Star roster.
The youngster game will feature players 21 and under only, and these players
will not be able to be selected for the big series. In both series, the GMs
will need to select a player from every team in their conference. There will be
no double shifting of forwards, and teams must select 3 goaltenders that each
must start one of the first three games.
Commish has approved the small awards of money for the four GMs, as well as
potential rewards for selected players. The two winning GMs will receive $3
Million, the other two, $2 Million. They will not receive player bonuses, which
will be $100,000 per point throughout the best of 5-game series, with a maximum
earning s of $2 Million to any team.
Since the games will run concurrently with the schedule, there will be multiple
day breaks to not pressure the GMs. Example schedule:
Day 1: 1 game from each series
Day 3: 1 game from each series
Day 6: 1 game from each series
Day 9: Young Game 4
Day 10: All Star Game 4
Day 12: Young Game 5
Day 13: All Star Game 5
