With the 2029 season starting and the second year under the Prevost reign the Colorado Avalanche have started hot, but there still is reason to be concerned. With our 6-2-2-1 record, our reason to be concerned is our defensive play throughout. Which was a concern for us last year as well. We are looking to make some moves to get younger on our D man. What is putting us at our 6-2-2-1 record is our 2nd line with Hayton, Hoglander, Lucuis and Broberg, we decided to go all out young on this line and they have put us in a great situation so far helping us have 37 goals scored as a team. We are hoping that our new star Sam Bennet, which we acquired from the offseason, starts to produce. He has been nothing but terrible thus far with 3 points in 11 games. If he doesn’t pick it up soon, he may be gone faster than he arrived. Our goal this season is to hopefully sneak into the playoffs as an 8 seed. This season with all the talent in the west it will be a hard task, but I think we’re ready for the challenge. Go Avs!
