20 Games In, DeSerres Sighting

By Ken Knoph

(Phoenix,AZ)  We are 20 Games into the season and the Phoenix Coyotes are off to a rough start with a record of 8-12.  The offense has been less than stellar with only 54 goals and the goalie and defense have been putrid letting up 71 goals.  GM Knoph to say the least has to be disappointed on how the team has been playing. He granted us with an interview and he did hold back on his feelings about the teams play.

Ken, first question, how do you feel about the first 20 Games of the season?  I would say it's been lackluster and pitiful.  Fans should be very disappointed in this team right now after the offseason moves that were made.  We shored up of defensive line by bringing in Dustin Byfuglien via trade and Connor Murphy through free agency.  Still even with those moves Andres Lindback can't stop the puck from going in.  This has to be one of the most talented blue lines we have ensembled here in Phoenix yet he can't stop a freaking beach ball right now.  I expected the new additions to the front lines to take time to them all to gel after the short pre-season, but I didn't expect to take over 20 games.  I'm hoping that team captain Derick Brassard holds a only players meeting to light a fire under all their a$$es.  If anyone could do it it would be the all time leading scorer for this franchise.  I still have the desire to make the playoffs this year with the roster and maybe a few moves along the way.

Speaking of moves, there's a rumor of a Jacob DeSerres talks?  Well it's not a rumor, we've had Jacob's representatives on the phone the past few days.  We have come to a agreement on a contract.  He was delayed on getting here yesterday morning for the New Jersey game,so we had to start Tyler Parsons.  Jacob will have every chance to bounce Andres from the number 1 goalie spot.  I don't care about any endorsement he may be on, it's all about winning.  Andres thinks his an elite goalie but has proven season after season he can't take over a game a win it.  His win/loss record and goals allowed prove it.  Mr. DeSerres is not here to push Andres to play better, he's here to play and win! He will get the start against Las Vegas today.

As you can read Mr.Knoph is fired up about the lackluster production fron the team so far.  Will teamturn it around? Is Jacob DeSerres the answer? Will there be moves?  Only 60 games more and time will tell.

GO YOTES!
