Flames' GM Stepping Down?

By Payton Knoph

Calgary (AP) - Rumors are swirling that Jeff Nagle, GM and President of the Calgary Flames may be stepping down in both capacities of the Flames. It is unknown what has spurred this rumor or what the future holds for the Flames' boss, but where there's smoke, there may be a flame. Since taking over the Flames in 2019, GM Nagle has rebuilt the team from ground up. Drafting his nucleus of Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart and David Pastrnak, Nagle has padded that core with the smooth acquisitions of Nathan Mackinnon, Roman Polak, and Malcolm Subban. The Flames have made the playoffs six straight seasons and have reached the FNHL Final twice (2021 and 2025). In recent seasons, Nagle has managed to retool the club to include more youth on the farm and on the pro with the addition of young star-in-the-making, Jesse Puljujarvi.

GM Nagle or any representative of the Flames were available for comment.
