Ducks in the Hunt for the Playoffs

By Dillon McGillivray

Anaheim has been yo-yoing in and out of the last few playoff spots all season. Currently the Ducks sit just behind the Coyotes only trailing by a single point. They hope to secure at least the 8th position in the conference by the end of the season.

The ducks will have a tough road ahead of them because in their recent game against Philly, which ended in a tie after OT. Forward JT Miller was injured with a chest injury and could be out for 1-2 weeks during a critical time for the team. “Some of our other forwards will just have to step up if we are to have any hope of making the playoffs this year" GM McGillivray said in a press conference earlier today.

With only 22 games left in their season the pressure is on for the Ducks to make a impact on the standings. “Even if we fail to secure a playoff spot, I have seen a lot of improvement in the Ducks this year. They have been playing much better this season then in previous seasons.”

The Ducks face the Canucks tonight at home and hope to bring a much needed win to the franchise that could potentially edge them into the 8th playoff spot. The fans eagerly await puck drop tonight
