Ho Hum Season Continues

By Duane Goetz

Yet another season of walking the payoff tight wire. The
team continues to win one lose one, in playoffs one day and out the next.  Frustrating as it is, the importance of each
game is undeniable.

The Canes are currently in 11th in the conference,
but with that being said, the team is 3 points out of a playoff spot, the
conference is so tight that there is only 10 points between the conference
leader and where the Canes sit.

The good news is that the season is not even half over and
there is plenty of time for the team to find their grove and start to win mor
than they lose and to creep up the standings.
The main problem with the team’s performance has a lot to do with the
unbalanced performance of the 3 top lines.
The 3rd line has been out chipping in consistently, while the
top 2 lines, which should be providing most of the scoring, have been
struggling.

The team’s biggest surprise has been the Ovechkin fountain of
youth as he leads the team in scoring and has been in and out of the leagues
top scoring list.  The biggest disappointment
has been Denisenko’s poor season and continued struggles.

Today the team is planning the Coyotes, they are entering
the game with Karlsson on the shelf short-term and Rask between the pipes.  Perlini is coming into the game after a 2-goal
performance while filling in Karlsson’s spot on the 1st line.

Stay tuned for the next update.
