Flyers Roster Shake-up

By Julian B

There is a dark smog when it comes to the Flyers and their relationship with good ol' RNG this season. Sitting now at 8-13-2-1 the Flyers are still clinging onto hope that things will just start to click. To kick things into motion the Flyers made a blockbuster deal with the Anaheim Ducks. Long-time Flyer's dman Charlie McAvoy was sent off to California along with Rasmus Asplund, Ryan Spooner and a 2030 2nd round pick. In return, Philly acquired one of the leagues most promising young forward talents in Filip Zadina, veteran forward Matt D'Agostini and Thomas Hickey who joins Philly for the 3rd time in his career. Zadina at just 22 years of age adds yet another scoring threat to the Flyers top six. Through two games with the Flyers Zadina has favorable numbers with 1 goal, 1 assist, 6 shots and 8 hits. Matt D'Agostini notched an assist in todays 5-2 win over the Bruins. Thomas Hickey has two helpers and has been promoted to top pair minutes with Cody Franson. Time will tell if this trade works out for reversing the early season woes. The Flyers have two days off before flying to Ohio to take on the Blue Jackets.
