Panthers Playing to Max Capacity

By Toby Rice

For the first time in many years, the Florida Panthers are the hottest ticket in town. Although they are on a recent skid, the team is playing in front of consistent sellout crowds in South Florida. Through 12 home games, Florida is averaging 18,188 fans or 99.5% capacity.

"We love it," said the GM. "We've worked many years to get to this point. From the on-ice product to our promotions, it's exciting to see the following grow here in Florida."

While the season started out strong, the Panthers are currently finding themselves on a losing skid. Just 3-6-1 in their last 10, they are out of the playoff picture if the season ended today.

"We're confident in our players. We have put together a group of guys that can win hockey games. This might be our best team in ten seasons." He's right, but are they performing how they need to? Rumors are swirling that Timo Meier is on the trade block, and that Florida's GM may already have offered up his name in a trade proposal.

"We won't comment on any of that. Trade proposals come up at all points in the season. If something comes about regarding any of our players, they will be the first to know."
