Dennis "Chilly" Cholowski Making Mark

By Skylar Barth

It’s been a mixed bag of a start this season for the Jets. The team is looking good after quite the shakup seeing a spot opening in the top 4. Dennis was showing a lot of promise in limited time on the bottom pairings, and on the PP, it was deemed he was ready for a bigger role. This payed off in the form of a 4 game point streak. The young D is coming into his own, and showing a flair for the offensive. This bodes well due to Risto and O'Rourke holding down the physical elements, with Zaitsev and Chilly seemingly up to the offensive task. It is still early in the season, plenty of time for things to even out and trend upwards. In 20 games so far this season, Dennis has notched 6 goals and 3 helpers for a 16.7 shooting percentage with only 16 average time on ice. These numbers are strong enough for 2nd amongst defencemen, trailing only Ristolainen. Due to his early start, he has been promoted to the 2nd line and top PP unit to continue his production. Time will tell if he can keep his scoring up but early signs are looking positive for the young defender. The top 4 is looking good, finally, in Winnipeg. Another offseason after a hopeful playoff run could see some players rounded out with the eye on the prize in Kuznetsov's final year.

Keep an eye on Chilly tomorrow when they take on Halverson and the Ducks. Until next time.
