Over Preforming Players

East:

Carolina- Alexander Ovechkin 13G 12A, everyone thought he was washed up after his 53-point season last year, but Carolina saw some youth left in him and is looking just like he did back in the day, Ovi is projected 82pts and a career-high in goals.

Buffalo- Connor McDavid 14G 11A, McDavid is the most hyped up first overall pick in the history of the FNHL, but he has not lived up to the potential, after a few mediocre seasons McDavid has found himself with the Sabers and is leading the team in goals and total points.

New York R-Sergei Kostisyn 8G 22A, the old man has aged like fine wine after back-to-back 82-point season Sergei is looking to beat that this season and he is well on pace to surpass that with a projection of 98 points.

Toronto- Erik Ersberg 2.54GAA 0.914 SA%, The 39-year-old is on pace to have his best season yet, having the 4th best Save percentage and the 8th best Goal allowed average, could he lead the maple Leafs to a playoff spot?

Philadelphia- Cody Franson 4G 18A, Franson has been known as one of the best Defenseman when it comes down to passing the puck but this year, he has stepped up the game tremendously with 18 assists on the season and projected to get 59.

Columbus- Travis Sanheim 3G 13A, A well-developed defenseman who is having a very balanced year, leading his team in assist, tied for the third most points and projected the most hits in his career.

Montreal- Filip Chalipik- 8G 15A, A lot of big-name people on the Habs and Filip is not one you think of, but he has been playing exceptionally well on the second line with 23 points which is tied for the third most on the team.

Washington- Jack Campbell 2.43 GAA 0.906 SA%, After slight regression, Campbell is sitting 5 in GAA which happens to be the best in the eastern conference.

Pittsburgh- Martin Kaut 10G 7A, Former first round pick is in his second year with the Pens and is looking to put his atrocious rookie season behind him and with the help of the new Gm he is finding a way to put the puck in the net leading the team in goals.

Detroit- Sven Andrighetto 9G 11A, the departing of Petan has left someone to fill his role and Sven has filled those shoes well, as he is leading his team in goals and is tied for the most points.

Ottawa- Lucas Lessio 9G 6A, A name you might not know but he knows how to produce this season, while being on the third line Lucas is leading Ottawa in goals and is third right now in total points as well, he has the highest plus minus on the team.

Tampa- Kirby Dach 9G 11A, the young prospect has done decent in his first few years in the league but this year he Is trying to get his first 60+pt season and he is well on pace to hit that mark.

New York I- Jayce Hawyrluk 11G 12A, after spending most of his career on the farm, this year he is getting full years play and he is showing why he should have been called up earlier, Jayce is sitting in second in terms of goals and assists on the Isles behind Quinton Howden.

New Jersey- Jonathan Huberdeau 10G 16A, after all the hype being the 4th overall pick in 2016 Jonathan has only been able to produce one 70-point season this season he is looking to break that and is projected to get 85pts.

Florida- Timo Meier 10G 12A, on paper this team should be putting up big numbers, but it seems like Timo is the only one to produce leading his team in goals and is in second for assist, looking to get his first 70-point season.

Boston- Jeff Carter 9G 12A, the 16-year pro has found some fuel this season for the Bruins after a disappointing 2027 campaign, this season he is tied for the most goals and assists on the team.

Over Preforming Players

West:

Winnipeg – Nikita Zaitsev 6G 8A, Young Defenseman who's on pace to break highest point total by 12 points and has been the most consistent Dman on one of the best teams in the west.

San Jose – Samuel Montembeault 2.37 GAA 0.914 G SA%, We knew he would be good, but Montembeault has been stellar and has made San Jose a serious contender while only having one 80 OV player, himself.

Chicago – Liam Foudy 13G 11A, most rookies have come into the scene struggling to post 65 points, but Foudy has walked on as a 21-year-old who’s on pace for 79 points, as well as 43 goals.

Nashville – Brandon Dubinsky 14G 13 A, the 2-time cup winner has been a top 10 player for close to 8 seasons now, but he has never reached the 40-goal mark which he is on pace to shatter this year.

Seattle – Jeff Skinner 9G 21A, the now 32-year-old was traded this past offseason and on the new squad he is on pace to break all the following career totals: Goals, Assists, Points, +/-, Hits.

Edmonton - Mitch Marner 4G 22A, Former 6th overall pick had a rough start to his career being on 4 different organizations in just 4 seasons, he has only been able to peak at 55 points but has finally found his groove with the Oilers.

Vancouver – Martin Jones 2.30 GAA 0.919 SA%, After the Canucks long search of a goaltender last year they landed Jones, this season he is top-5 in Wins, GAA and SA%.

Los Angeles – Viktor Fasth 2.67 GAA 0.907 SA%, Fasth so far is on target to break most of his own career records, but most importantly the guy knows how to win, he has a league-leading 14 wins.

Anaheim – Brandon Halverson 2.28 GAA 0.919 SA%, Halverson is the reason why the Ducks are sitting at the 9 seed in the west, he has a league best 4 shutouts as well as the 3rd best GAA.

Dallas - Jesperi Kotkaniemi 14G 13A, The Centerman just signed a long-term extension this past off-season and was expected to take on a bigger role this season, which he has fulfilled so far.

Minnesota – Gustav Nyquist 15G 13A, the 2018 2nd overall pick, has always had high expectations but has never achieved them, until his 11th season where he has broken out with Point Per Game pace.

Colorado – Barrett Hayton 7G 23A, Hayton has been playing phenomenal hockey this year while his and his team's expectations were low, he has a league best 23 assists and is sitting in 4th for point totals.

Las Vegas – Cal Foote 7G 9A, Cal has really been the only bright spot on the Golden Knights, he is top-10 in the Norris Trophy race right now and has the second most goals amongst the Defensemen.

Arizona – Dustin Byfuglien 4G 8A, acquired from a trade this past offseason the big Dman sits 5th in the league for hit totals and is on pace to match his points from last year.

Calgary – Jakob Chychrun 6G 10A, what a start to the season Chychrun is having, the very defensive Dman has broken out this year offensively, on pace for 53 points when his career best is just 29.

St. Louis – Rasmus Kupari 9G 12A, Is the best player on the ice for his team, Kupari has a +8 rating while his team is –24 in goal differential, he also is on pace for the best season of his young career.

This year has been different from the past few as of now. The dynasties of Nashville and Montreal have been ruling the league in the standings as well as player performance. But this year the current division leaders are not what we are used to seeing, the 8 seed in the west is just 2 points away from the 1 seed and no single player is running away with individual stats. As this crazy close year continues let's look at the 1st Volume (Green 1-10, Yellow 11-21, Red 22-32)
