*McCollum Loves McDonagh*

By Anthony Erickson

This is Taco Stevenson coming to you from Rumors Sports Bar & Grill with some breaking news on the trade front. FINALLY, the trigger has been pulled on a deal...  I mean, seriously after all this time sitting here waiting for GM Erickson to do something..  and finally he does. And all I can say is..  ohhhh my~

Though there were other options to facilitate the big move, the first transaction that took place was the Predators sending backup goalie Matt Tomkins (and cash) to the Panthers to rent their backup tendy Scotty Wedgewood. Then the negotiations with Columbus were finalized and the team found themselves with yet another shutdown Dman on their blueline..  Ryan McDonagh. Rumors had previously swirled that the team would be in search of additional firepower up front and they were indeed confirmed to be in talks with several teams, but in the end... the allure of forming a deadly wall of a top 4 D-unit was too much. McDonagh will join Cowan, Fleury, & Reinhart into the postseason and while goalie Thomas McCollum couldn't be happier, there IS an odd man out right now...   we had a word with young D Miro Heiskanen...

"...well, I don't know what I can say.. my play hasn't been consistent enough to disagree with the move. And I know I can still contribute, I don't know..  contribute SOMEthing from a bottom 6 role. Ryan is a great, veteran player and yeah, I guess I'm excited to learn what I can from him. Cup or bust, buddy (sniffle).. Cup or bust.." - D Miro Heiskanen

It's hard to blame Miro for some initial disappointment, but I'm told teammates and management have went out of their way recently to make sure he knows he's still a huge part of the future here in Nashville. It can be tough for a young star to deal with losing their spot so late in the season, but the team seems confident that Heiskanen can handle it~

Until next time, stay thirsty my friends.
