This is Taco Stevenson coming to you again from the comforts of my bedroom as I strive for greatness despite Covid's daily attempts to keep the man (me) down.
Well, it took half of a season to make it there, but the Predators now lead the FNHL standings. This doesn't come as a surprise to most, but the organization is definitely pleased with the progress and the fans are absolutely loving it. At 27-11-2-1 with a +51 goals for/against differential and a 7-game win streak, it's safe to say that things are going well thus far. We had to get a word with the new GM and here's what he had to say...
"...yes Taco, it's been nice to see. Hopefully we can extend the streak tonight against Vegas and get another win for young Jake O. It seems like a solid spot start for him against a team that takes PIMs like my great-grandma eats Kellogs cornflakes. And yes, she eats them 4 times a day. It's weird. Anyways, I'm extremely proud of the team and I'm excited for the postseason. We look great right now, but with the multiple additions we'll have coming for the playoffs... we'll be ridiculous. And hey, we'll need to be.. plenty of talented teams out there this season. Last season was great, but this season has been one of the best in league history.. a rebirth, man. It's a frickin rebirth!" - GM Erickson
Apparently we'll be seeing rookie tendy Jake Oettinger in goal tonight against Vegas and that should make this an extra interesting contest. While the talent resides on one side alone, a young goalie can easily be intimidated by a group of dirty, undisciplined dudes. How will it go? Will the rookie actually get the start? We shall see..
Until next time, don't let grandpa ride the pine~
