Hop on the Kane Train

By Julian B

Evander Kane has been a talented top six forward for the majority of the last eight seasons. Originally selected 4th overall in the 2013 draft (Vancouver) Kane struggled out of the gate but perhaps was not given the patience he required in his younger years. Through his 20's he was moved to New Jersey, Carolina, Winnipeg, Minnesota and eventually signed as a UFA in Arizona. Arizona was where Kane made a name for himself. His three seasons with the Coyotes netted Evander 82 goals while only ever missing one game due to injury. The Flyers were interested in his services prior to the 2025 campaign and reached out to Arizona to strike a deal. The Flyers moved a younger forward in Matthieu Perreault and included a 2nd round pick to the Yotes for Kane. Kane enjoyed instant success in 2025 scoring a career high 32 goals and added 42 assists for 74 points. Thus far in 2026 the 31 year old has already scored 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points in 24 games. Kane is a staple on the Flyers top line and top powerplay unit which are currently centered by vet Nicklas Backstrom. Keep an eye on this speedy forward who doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
