If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It

..a turning point in the classic movie "Predator."

By Anthony Erickson

This is Taco Stevenson coming to you again from the comforts of my bedroom as I strive for greatness despite Covid's daily attempts to keep the man (me) down.

11 games into the new season and the team sits with a solid 7-3-1 record. Besides the slow start from winger Kevin Fiala, everything seems to be going as planned during the 1st chunk of games under the new GM. The Preds understandably dropped close games to Philly and Montreal...  they lost 3-2 to Detroit and unfortunately only tied the Avs in their last game... but otherwise, the team has handled its business nicely. That includes a solid revenge shutout against an outmatched Philadelphia roster. All of that said, where we at?  We got a few words from GM Erickson to find out more..

"..thanks for asking, Taco. Well, thus far we like what we've seen overall. I told J-Rock (Jared Cowan) before the season that he'll be leaned on more than ever this season and he's responded bigtime. 13pts in 11 games?! Last year I may have told you that Vic (Hedman) was the top D in the league, but now I'll gladly declare that the torch hath been officiallyy passed. We also believed that Stevie (Stamkos) could lead the league in goals this season and he's on pace to be right there. So I guess..  where we at? We're golden, buddy..  we're on track to smack Jack right in the crack.." - GM Erickson

Well, right on I guess. It's good to hear that management is happy with the results and as fans it's hard not to agree. The team is near the top of the league in goals scored VS goals against and the Farm crew is rollin' along nicely as well. In fact, we're hearing word that star goalie Thomas McCollum will get a rest soon and that young prospect tendy Jake Oettinger will start a Pro game. He's the future after McCollum and though that's still several seasons away, it'll be interesting to see how the young dude handles the big shots from the big Pro boys. He was 7-4 in 12 games last season with a 2.73 GAA and a .898 Save% so..  he could do better :)

That said, the Devils come to town next and who knows.. maybe ol' Jake will snake out a W~
