The Predatorial Editorial

By Anthony Erickson

This is Taco Stevenson coming to you from the comforts of my bedroom as I continue to strive for greatness despite Covid's attempts to keep the man (me) down. Yes, I am the new reporter for the Nashville Predators of the FNHL and no, I do not have any formal experience in this sort of role. That said, forgive me for any potential unprofessionalism this season..

I've seen my fair share of solid teams, but these Nashville rosters are looking pretty dirty to start the season. I say 'rosters' because they still have a handful of big talents who are still honing their skills in the Minors, but could easily contribute immediately if needed. I would give a full kudos to new GM Erickson, buuut I believe most of the credit goes to former GM Adam 'Hair-Bear' Harris. This team was loaded with assets upon its transfer and all Erickson has done is mold things a bit. Not all fans are impressed either...

"...wow, this hot-shot GM comes in after winning a Cup in NY and just trades some of our best guys left and right. Reeeal cool..  I get that he wants to put his stamp on things, but Stamkos is fkin old and where did Horton go!?  I don't get it..." -- Gary Siscoto, Predators Fan

"...this new GM is an idiot. He trades future picks for current picks, then current picks for future picks a week later...  I loathe him." -- Tina Tickler, Predators Fan

Personally, I don't mind some of the moves which have been made since the GM took over. The main difference I can see is that it's a faster team with better all-around skaters top to bottom. These Preds may not score quite as many goals as they have in the past, but they still look primed to win quite a few games and make some significant noise once the postseason comes around. Word on the street is that they already have some extra beef secured for the Cup run and well, that doesn't surprise me in the least. As the Beatles used to say, 'HEY, you've got to hiiiide your.. beef a-way.' I think that's how it went anyways..

To open the season, the Preds will be tested as they travel to Montreal to face the Habs. Never an easy one up North against 'the Wes.'  Until next time, I'm Taco Stevenson and I plan on enjoying the rest of Taco Tuesday.
